About Us

Founded by Dr. Duncan Augustine, Laurel Stone has served the citizens of Amherst County for over 30 years. Dr. Jessica Ligon, owner of Lovingston Veterinary Hospital, with her associates, took over the reins in 2018. More recently the office has been undergoing renovations to improve its capacity and functionality. Dr. Ligon’s goal at Laurel Stone has always been to assemble a veterinary team committed to providing excellent client service and healthcare.

Laurel Stone Veterinary Hospital (LSVH) is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in central VA. We seek to provide the best possible medical, surgical, and dental care for our patients.

Meet the Doctors

Dr. Jessica Ligon

Jessica Ligon, DVM

Borne & Raised in Nelson County, Virginia, Dr. Ligon grew up on a commercial beef and sheep operation and spent many hours of her youth watching her father practice veterinary healthcare. She now is married and has two boys, James and Jacob. Raising them on the same farm and office she grew up in.

“I have always loved animals and pets so working with them all day and learning how their bodies work fascinates me. Everyday, I feel like I am making a difference in the lives of not only my pet patients, but also their human families as well.”

Dr. Krisha Golla, Associate Veterinarian
